JK’s Looking for a Second Makeup Artist

Second/Assisting Makeup Artist Required

Hi ladies (and gents),

Ok so...here goes...

I am looking for a second/assisting artist to work alongside me, as I’m becoming extremely busy and can’t meet all the demand of my wonderful clients.

This person will not be employed by me as such, as I am looking for an artist that is already, or is becoming, freelance and self employed. The artist will be recommended by me for any bookings I’m unable to take: taking wedding and occasion bookings alone when I’m already booked, working alongside me on large wedding parties, working at my studio on very busy days and assisting on photo shoots etc...  This means that they will be paid directly by their own clients, enabling them to build their own client base and business.

This is a huge opportunity for somebody who is looking to kick-start their business. The first year is especially difficult but this prospect would allow the artist to ‘jump in at the deep end’ working alongside an already established brand. I am preferably looking for a ‘New Face’ someone who hasn’t already necessarily started their branding or business building. The chosen individual will receive the following (with obvious terms and conditions that will be discussed during interview process)...

  • Training and coaching on a 1 to 1 level
  • Business guidance and firsthand experience of the industry
  • Help and advice in building a professional kit
  • Bookings and recommendations for the foreseeable future
  • Use of a studio

It is essential that the chosen person has an understanding of the hard work that goes into this job and is willing to take on the very early call times, a sometimes highly charged and stressful environment and the responsibility that comes with not only being self employed, but also being associated with another brand.

I have worked extremely hard over the past 2 years whilst I’ve been freelancing (and many years before running my own business) to build my client base and working connections. I have chosen an industry that doesn’t allow for sick days and doesn’t tolerate attitudes; that would also be expected of anyone wanting to work alongside me. However, if hard work, responsibility, determination and most importantly makeup artistry is your thing, then you will also find that this job couldn’t be more rewarding. Every day is different, creative and challenging; you will spend your days working alongside talented and wonderful people in all fields of the industry, bouncing ideas, observing their work and exploring new techniques... If interested you must ...

  • Have your own kit
  • Have insurance
  • Be self employed or becoming so
  • Be able to drive and have access to a car

If you are interested in the above and meet the criteria please contact me with all of your details on the following to arrange a meeting:

I’m so excited for the next chapter in my business and I’m looking forward to sharing it with another artist,

Look forward to hearing from you
